Akwa Ibom State has placed Nigeria on the world map as one of the countries with a Science Park .

So far, the administration of Governor Godswill Akpabio has registered the Ibom Science Park as a member of International Association of Science Parks. The administration has also initiated and concluded the upgrading of the Ibom Science Park status to an export free zone (NEPZA).             

The Ministry of Science and Technology thanks His Excellency, our Digital Governor, for his commitment to making Akwa Ibom become a leader in Science & Technology.

As we join millions of Nigerians and Akwa Ibomites to felicitate with You and Mr. President, Commander of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic, His Excellency, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar' Adua on our state's 21^st anniversary on September 23, 2008 and our country's 48^th Independence Anniversary on 1^st October, 2008.

It is our prayer that God Almighty will in his infinite mercy and love continue to protect, guide and direct you to pilot the affairs of this State and Country successfully.
